The entry point to the down line, and the only one filled with duck rather than goose. Duck clusters are smaller than goose clusters of the same grade, which is why the fill power sits at 600 rather than 750 — smaller clusters trap less air per gram. It packs into its own pocket.

What this layer changes

Dry cleaning
Dry cleaning is not recommended; solvents strip the natural oils from the down.
Washing
Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with a down-specific detergent, front-loading drum only.
Down care
Tumble dry on low with three clean dryer balls until the clusters are fully open and no damp weight remains. Expect two to three hours. Storing a down garment compressed flattens the clusters.

Taken on the garment lying flat, in centimetres. Chest and hem are the straight measurement across, doubled. Allow one centimetre either way for cloth that has been milled or washed.
