The entry point to the line, and the one most brands would describe as 'expertly constructed' rather than name. The front panel is fused: a light interfacing is bonded to the back of the face cloth with heat and adhesive across the whole panel. It gives a clean flat chest from the first wearing, it costs the least to make, and it is the construction most likely to ripple after repeated solvent cleaning. All three of those things are true at once, so all three are printed here.

What this layer changes

Weight decides drape more than fibre does. The same wool at 300 gsm and at 500 gsm are two different garments — one follows the body, the other hangs off the shoulder in a column.
