A gabardine shell with a wool liner that buttons in along a tape at the front edge and at the armhole. Liner in, it is a winter coat; liner out, it is a spring coat; the liner on its own is a serviceable gilet-and-sleeves layer. The mechanism is the product, so the button tape is photographed rather than described.

What this layer changes
